Do you have experience of electrical or mechanical maintenance?

If so we would like to hear from you!

If you're looking for a change of scenery and to take on a new challenge with a rapidly expanding company, then we might have just the job.

We are currently looking for TWO Preventative Maintenance Engineers at our Runcton Site which is based on the Chichester Food Park, based near to Chichester in beautiful West Sussex.

We are one of the largest employers in the area, employing more than 1,200 talented individuals and we are growing! So, it's an exciting time to join us, make your mark and be a proud part of our onward journey.

A day in the life of our Engineers:

We use some FMCG cutting edge technology here, as well as some more longstanding bits of kit, so you will be working with robotics and automation, alongside standard manufacturing machinery - so you'll need to be flexible and eager to learn and develop your existing skills to meet the needs of your site.

As a member of our dedicated Preventative Maintenance Engineering team you will get involved with scheduled and planned maintenance within our food manufacturing environment. This will include mechanical and electrical work. You will strive towards continuously improving maintenance practices and procedures ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.

You will be required to support and sometimes lead the design and implementation of new planned maintenance tasks and to utilise current computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and ensure they are kept to a high standard that meets internal and external audit standards.

Any work within food manufacturing means working in a clean environment, ensuring any work carried out is in accordance with current legislation, good engineering practices, food and Health & Safety standards. You will also liaise with teams within production and operations from a range of levels and backgrounds to ensure maintenance is planned effectively and achieved.

You will have an experienced Engineer that you will work with to show you the ropes as well as on-going training and support from your manager and our Engineering Trainer.

As your experience and knowledge grows you will be able to get involved in machinery breakdowns and have the opportunity to move into a Multi-skilled shift Engineer role should you wish to progress your career.

Role type: Permanent

Hours: Admin hours 40 hours per week Monday - Friday. Your hours will be Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm, based at our Runcton site on the Chichester Food Park.

The team:

Our teams are diverse and include a mix of Apprentices, experienced Engineers, developers, Ex-Forces and people from a variety of industry backgrounds. Each site has an Engineering Manager to support and lead the way.

About you:

You will need to have an electrical or mechanical skillset and qualifications or an apprenticeship plus time served will also be considered.

Excellent communication skills are required to be able to liaise comfortably with other teams and ensure that work is completed effectively.

A keen eye for detail, good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn are essential.

Your journey with us…

To make sure you've got all the tools to do the job you'll get full training on any skills gaps and all the equipment needed is supplied.

We will also give you an NWF Mentor and tailor-made objectives, on the job training, 1-2-1 coaching. You will have the opportunity to progress into a Multi-skilled Engineer role as your knowledge and experience grows.
