SALES DIRECTOR — DRIVING FAST GROWTH TO THE NEXT LEVEL

 The company

Part of a growing e400m European food group supported with a substantial investment for growth strategy, this UK-based division produce premium added-value, innovative chilled foods including both brands and own label, with a significant category share in the leading grocery multiples.

As part of their UK growth strategy, a new state of the art factory was successfully opened in 2020 and will be followed by a further major marketing investment later in 2021… Exciting stuff, which provides an unrivalled ‘moment in time’ opportunity to join the business in this senior leadership position, which will report and work closely with the MD to shape and execute the future trading strategy direction.

The role

This position will require special skills to lead and motivate the team, and to shape and influence resources/structure relevant to a fast pace growing business. You will also take a hands on ‘close to the heart beat’ approach in directly managing the Tesco account up to the next level. 

The role will have full P&L control and manage Category and National Account teams that are open, friendly, highly collaborative, very professional and motivated about everything they do for their customers day in day out… This is what they do, and you will need to naturally demonstrate this trait to be successful in this high profile role.

About you

You are a well trained and structured professional commercial leader, with experience of working in blue chip, as well as medium-sized more entrepreneurial style food businesses, with a strong understanding of the UK grocery trade, and in particular a track record of profitable sales growth in the leading Grocery Retail Multiples, including Tesco. Your experience should include branded products and ideally own label too, providing valuable cross-functional working including innovation experience with influence over all relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Most importantly, you are ready… ready to move up from your Controller/Business Unit Director role to your first SD challenge and take control of the ‘whole show’ and lead from the front in a very exciting, well-invested business with a great team!

Experienced Sales Directors will also be considered however, they will need to fit into the business mojo.
