A leading global brand, renowned for its great product that is sold via multiple channels has partnered with Advocate to find a key appointment within their Category team to facilitate further growth within their Convenience channel.

You will be the trusted Category Partner for core categories. To offer expert advice based on strong Product, Consumer, Market, Customer, and Commercial analysis & understanding. To turn insight into actions that unlock category growth and to work with all internal and external partners to develop and deliver them. To communicate with passion & personality to build strong customer engagement which enhances the client's value as a business partner.

The role has significant areas of focus:

To drive insight and actions from analysis of the market and consumer data and identify market shifts and trends. To ensure both internal and external customers understand category performance and act on recommendations, through regular engagement.

To work closely with the sales team to maximise the performance of priority ranges within customers to improve distribution and ensure delivery of the commercial plan.

To build relationships and trust with key customers to positively influence core category performance for mutual benefit. Customer engagement through Category Reviews, Range Reviews, New Product Presentations, and customer-specific work e.g. Promotional analysis, Total Frozen category recommendations.

To work with eCommerce and commercial leads to build and execute a category growth plan for online.

To execute shopper activation plans to realise category growth opportunities in line with the Category Vision. To ensure both internal and external alignment with retailer, brand, and category strategies.

To be a category partner for a defined product area. This includes providing a category perspective to support strategy development & business planning, as well as delivering NPD through supporting the Gate process, developing a launch plan & selling presentations to hit range listing windows, and shopper activation and trade communication strategies.

About you:

You will have operated at the Category Manager level

As the post-Covid world approaches, there will be some travel to the Head Office in Yorkshire and customer in the North West.

Have the hunger to partner with a key customer and continue to develop and nurture the relationship

And of course, influence through data and insight!
