Warehouse Manager

My client is a manufacturer of plastic products across various consumer goods industries such as Garden, Houseware and Baby. They manufacturer all of their products at their site in Pinxton. Originally a family run business, however the company was bought out in 2015 and is backed by a financially stable American business. Some of the family members still work in senior positions within the company.

We are recruiting a Warehouse Manager to manage 3 warehouses and a warehouse team of around 40 people.

Objectives

Managing and leading the team.

Cost effective and accurate deliveries, suitably timed to customer satisfaction.

Cost effective and accurate warehousing – goods in and out.

Ensuring site equipment is used and maintained in a safe manner

Key Responsibilities

• monitoring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods;
• 98% stock accuracy using computer systems;
• manage budgets and maintain statistical and financial reports;
•      coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems, in conjunction with colleagues in other parts of the company;
• analysing data to monitor performance of staff;
• analysing data to make improvements in the operation;
• allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs;
• liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers relating to w/house issues;
• analysing logistical problems and      implementing solutions;
• oversee the maintenance of fork lift trucks and equipment;
• ensure the facilities and equipment are looked after and in good condition;
• liaise with other departments, such as production, sales, buying;
• implementing health and safety procedures;
• managing staff training issues;
• motivating the team;
• project management;
• setting objectives.
