The Company

They are a family run business that have built up an excellent reputation within the industry, with a grand portfolio of food ingredients and commodity-based products, supplying a range of customers including Bakery, Beverage and Confectionery manufacturers in the UK and across Europe. They have seen impressive growth over the last year and will be investing into a new UK manufacturing site which will add substantial value to their portfolio of products. With growth being the focus, they are looking to add to their sales team.

The Role

My client is looking for a hungry, ambitious individual that has some experience of the Ingredients industry, building and managing existing customers in the B2B food manufacturing arena. There will be an account base to manage, however you will be responsible for identifying any new business opportunities and converting into sales. This role will report into the Sales Director

Duties include:

  • Identify new business opportunities, through outbound calls, cold calling and lead chasing.
  • Grow and manage an existing customer portfolio
  • Arranging and attending site visits for any new or existing customers
  • Negotiating with customers on new contracts
  • Delivering monthly sales targets and KPIs, ensuring annual budgets, spend and promo plans are in line with the business expectations
  • Working cross functionally with other teams within the business

Skills needed to be considered:

  • At least 2 years experience within an FMCG business – preferable commodity based
  • Great commercial acumen
  • Proven track record of hunting and securing new business
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Minimum GCSE level in English and Maths
  • Self-motivated, hungry, driven and ambitious
