SUPPLY CHAIN FINANCE DIRECTOR CONSUMER

Reporting to the EMEA Supply Chain Finance Director, the role is a major business partner working with the Supply Chain function, providing proactive forward-looking strategic and operational insights, guidance, support and mentoring to make effective and informed decisions regarding sales, profitability and expense management.

PERSON PROFILE

Knowledge and experience

  • BA/BS level and 10 years’ experience in senior level supply chain finance roles with experience in FMCG preferred
  • Proven experience in being able to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong proficiency in Word and Power Point
  • Highly developed analytical skills and understanding of the Supply Chain business and the markets in which McCormick operates
  • Strong technical Finance understanding and business acumen
  • Fluent in English

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Business Partner will be required to build strong, trusting relationships with senior stakeholders in the Supply Chain function. His work impact other internal financial sub-functions as well as other functional teams (i.e. Supply Chain, Commercial).

Reporting and Analysis

  • Monitor and drive financial performance by providing insight into business performance
  • Facilitates business ownership of the financial result and enables them to understand the actions they need to take to drive improved business performance
  • Reviews and draws insight from the management reports, presenting key findings to senior stakeholders

     Business Planning

 

  • Facilitate the budgeting and forecasting process, supporting the business to own their assumptions
  • Review, challenge and finalize factory, freight and distribution plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Provide input into strategic planning process ensuring the commercial strategies are clearly understood and the operations resource plan is aligned to deliver the overall business objectives.
  • Oversees the completion of business modelling, analysing and interpreting the results and presenting them to senior stakeholders.

Plant/ Factory Performance Management

  • Presents the business with relevant operational and insights, assessing performance against business strategy and making recommendations to enhance financial performance
  • Identify cost and network optimization opportunities and validate the impact of such opportunities to ensure cost savings are achievable
  • Partners with the business on inventory management to manage cash flow

Investment Appraisals and Business Cases

 

  • Critically evaluates key investment opportunities to assess the financial and operational viability
  • Manages the Capital asset acquisition process with the business – ensuring the CAAP model is completed in adherence with Corporate policy and adequate level of support is included for all financial amounts
  • Develop and review business cases for new investments

Business Improvements/ Strategic Initiatives / Change Strategy & Support

  • Support the delivery of the CCI and other change projects into the Business Unit
  • Provides financial support for the evaluation of an identified opportunity or issue – balancing cost with performance and impact of operational decisions
  • Reviews current processes and identifies and implements relevant improvements

Team Management

  • Provide strong technical stewardship direction to the team, setting priorities and goals
  • Manages, motivates, and develops the finance team to provide effective and value-added support to the business
  • Utilizes coaching and facilitation skills to manage employee relations
  • Provides regular performance feedback and oversees development/training plans for individuals within the team. 
  • Rewards and recognizes performance achievements.
