Denholm is delighted to be working exclusively with The Alcoholic Water Company Ltd to hire a UK Head of Sales.

Working from home and/or remotely, The Head of Sales will initially have full responsibility for establishing and growing The Alcoholic Water Company’s first brand from their developing portfolio pipeline, Lilo - the premium hard seltzer into the UK Grocery, Retail & On-trade marketplace.

Based in Glasgow with team members across the UK, The Alcoholic Water Company is an exciting start-up established in 2019 by four founders; each own a variety of drink focused businesses based in London, Chicago and Glasgow, covering branding, advertising, manufacturing, liquid development and accountancy. With a combined, cross functional experience of over 60 years – and having worked with some of the world’s highest profile alcohol brands, this syndicate formed to take advantage of the super fast-growing health and well-being drinks phenomena coming from the USA, that of hard seltzers – or alcoholic water.

In November 2020, the business launched its first premium hard seltzer brand, Lilo. One of the lightest and lowest in the market, Lilo is the Art of Hard Seltzer and is clearly differentiated from other Hard Seltzers;
- Each flavour contains a bespoke botanical spirit. crafted to perfectly match its natural flavours, distilled by an award winning distiller
- Each flavour is inspired by the wine category
- It’s one of the lowest calorie brands in market
- It is one of the lowest abv in category [just 3.5%] - It uses Scottish water (known for its purity)
- Each can has exceptional stand-out on shelf due to its unique artwork designed by globally renowned artist Maria Rivans

The Role?
The amazing opportunity - a brand new role - initially oversees the strategy, management and growth of UK sales for the first brand of several, Lilo. This includes direct account management of key customers, specifically multiple premium retailers, premium pub operators, premium out of home (cinema, high end bars & hotels) and wholesalers.

The ideal profile is a high-energy Commercial Manager with a proven track record of launching new FMCG brands that attract large UK multi-channel customers (specifically premium grocery & retail). Ideally with a solid branded drinks exposure, you will have evidence of identifying, winning and managing national accounts in the food & drink sector. Charismatic and passionate for premium drinks brands, you will be ambitious with a fierce desire to succeed - and be attracted to the concept of a start-up business working in a fast-growth, hugely exciting category. In a nutshell, a strategic and self-motivated UK sales and national account leader with a “can do” attitude to join our small, specialist team of entrepreneurial drinks enthusiasts.
