Head of Environment and Public Affairs | BASIS | Ashbourne
Salary - commensurate with experience
About our client:-
We are proud to be working exclusively with BASIS to help them find a Head of Environment and Public Affairs. This is a new position for the organisation and is intended to help them drive their diversification strategy over the next few years. BASIS have always represented excellence within training, certification and auditing practices across Agriculture. However, in recent years, they have looked to expand this to cover a range of associated sectors, including food production, plant nutrition and public health.
About the role:-
As the Head of Environment and Public Affairs, you will have dual facing role. The main part of the position is to be the organisations lead on all things related to the environment and sustainability. BASIS constantly strive to raise the professional standards across their sectors and this role will be pivotal in that. The Government has outlined an ambitious environmental plan and you will be helping the industry rise to the challenge with support across training, professional development and auditing.
The second part of the role is to work closely with the Chief Executive to develop the company's Public Affairs strategy to ensure they are getting the exposure they need to achieve their goals.
The ideal candidate:-
This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience in supporting business action on sustainability and the environment. This could be through education, consultancy or strategic programmes. You will be an expert in the field having achieved a high level grade in a relevant degree, ideally in Biological or Agronomic Sciences. It goes without saying that you will need to be a strong team player, be passionate and imbue this passion within the business. The head office for the business is based in Ashbourne, but they are open to be people splitting their time between home and office.
