Commercial Account Manager / New Business.
Our client is a successful and well-respected Food Distributor who has enjoyed phenomenal growth over recent years. Their exclusive brands have great potential and enjoy large market share in their respective countries. We have been briefed to select candidates for the position of Commercial Account Manager, with an emphasis on winning new business.
Our client has identified a considerable opportunity in the top four / five Grocer accounts (Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tesco and Waitrose). As a starting point therefore, you should be experienced in managing at least one of these accounts. This is a new business role, so we are very much looking for a hunter as opposed to a farmer. For this reason, however, it is also essential that you have experience of having opened at least one of these accounts from scratch and can provide evidence of how you courted the account and the processes you undertook to engage the buyers.
To be considered for this exciting role you will ideally be from a branded category (snacking, confectionery or soft drinks would be preferable although we have been briefed that commercial skills and new business skills are more important than category experience). Our client however is only willing to consider applications from candidates with experience of an ambient category.
In return for your dedication and effort, our client is prepared to pay a basic salary of between £40k to £55k basic plus a company car and open-ended commission scheme. This is a very attractive package for a door opening specialist.
