Plant and Horti Buyer | Garden Retail | £DOE

About Our Client
Our client has gone through some serious growth and as a result, they are looking for a talented buyer to join their team. They are a well-established business and brand that offers a fantastic range of products to their customer base. They grow many of the products that they offer and source extra stock and new and exciting products. They are very focused on quality and pride themselves on the diverse range of exceptional products that they offer.

About the Role
This role will be very commercially focused. You will build relationships with growers to get the best stock available, whilst ensuring the range of products is performing to its best too. You will be able to spot trends in buyer behaviour and build on your knowledge of what sells well, to deliver the best results for the business. You will be able to look at different customer channels and work closely with sales, marketing and merchandising departments to help deliver continued growth for the business. Your knowledge of plants and the horticulture sector will help you make decisions on a daily basis.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in the garden retail or horticulture sector. You will be aware of the seasonality of the sector and be au fait with a variety of plants, bulbs, sundries and related products. You will be a proficient user of excel and be able to track data and product trials to improve commercial results. You will be able to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maximise results.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a background in the garden/horticulture sector. You will need to be a very strong communicator and be able to demonstrate your ability to build lasting relationships.
