We are working with a market leading home improvements business on an exciting Head of Sales role.

Based in South East England my client are a market leading home improvements business. With over 40 years' experience in the market, a national remit and innovation at the heart of what they do this is a very exciting business to join.

Like many businesses Covid was difficult for them but they have utilised their experience in the market and their very established leadership team to come through it and have exciting and ambitious plans for 2021.

Description

The Head of Sales role is a crucial role in the business, you will be responsible for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve your financial targets and duties will include driving annual sales targets across the sales team.

The Head of Sales - Home Improvements:

- Drive sales and year on year growth across the national sales team

- Manage the existing national sales team - mix of employed staff and self-employed sales agents

- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products

- Act as a change leader and role model in driving the cultural and process changes needed to support the business plan

- Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors

- Work closely with colleagues on cross-territory opportunities and other internal teams on marketing materials and cause studies

- Understand the competitive landscape and market trends

- Understand and effectively communicate the company's value proposition

- Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition and supply and demand

- Oversee and maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training self-employed population

- Ability to identify and solve client issues strategically

- Work with internal teams to ensure the highest level of customer service

- Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams and fosters a culture of continuous process improvement

- Ensure reports and other internal intelligence and insight is provided to the sales organization

- Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the teams across the business providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Market Segmentation, Win/Loss, Age

- Report on key KPIs related to the lead and the opportunity waterfall in order to implement a consistent closed loop between marketing and sales

- Through reporting and analytics, validate the quality of the lead and pipeline data and provide guidance to improve the overall data quality

- Define contact and account quality standards in the database, defining processes and data acquisition strategies

- Monitor the quality of sales information and define data improvement programs

Profile

The Head of Sales - Home Improvements:

- Experience managing a national sales team

- Experience managing both employed and self-employed staff

- Experience selling B2C is essential

- Proven track record delivering strategic sales growth across a sales team

- Demonstrable experience as Head of Sales,

- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

- Proven ability to position products against competitors

- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Maximising company profit

- Foreseeing and avoiding stagnation in the marketplace

- Forming sales strategies to keep your company competitive and innovative

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with board members and SMT and work with cross-functional teams, for both Sales and non-Sales audiences.
