CATEGORY MANAGER — New Functional Role!
Based central Midlands with home-working flexibility
Competitive salary plus bonus, car allowance and benefits

The Company

Despite the pandemic our client’s business is a stunning success story in today’s highly competitive chilled food category, achieving unprecedented growth with sales volumes in 2020! Part of a well-invested e400m European food group, they have successfully opened a brand new UK-based state-of-the-art factory with the capability to deliver further increases in sales, driven from NPD, new business development and manufacturing efficiencies.

They are already a category-leading business with a genuine ‘TEAM’ togetherness, with all stakeholders working collaboratively to service the needs of their customers and to get the job done! In a growing category they are now looking to shape the category strategy to drive more value with their major grocery retail partners… oh, and that’s where you come in!

The Role

This is a brand new, first ever Category Management role in the UK division — so a fantastic opportunity for you to join a fast-growing business with a fab ‘TEAM’ spirit and to directly set up a dynamic, high-performing, consumer-led category management function. Using your experience you will have the scope to set up leading-edge systems, processes, insight data and purchase and budgetary control, as well as driving both internal product and customer-led strategies. This is exciting stuff and a real one-in-a-million opportunity to shape this growing company’s future category management blueprint.

About You

Consumer insight is at the heart of everything that drives you to deliver outstanding category stories, which you deliver with a natural ability and flair to influence your audience both internally and externally with all key stakeholders. You have excellent data analysis interpretation skills, coupled with the ability to professionally and efficiently shape and build pragmatic NPD, pricing, ranging and merchandising strategies all focused on delivering profitable category sales growth.

You are a highly-capable professional who would relish the opportunity to set up and ‘row the category boat’ but always as part of the ‘TEAM’ which you embrace with passion, energy and most importantly, hard work and commitment.

So if you feel this is a career move not to be missed and you can meet the challenge of building and creating a new category function in this well-invested and high-potential growing business, please apply to mark@smithcarey.co.uk quoting reference MS/2152 enclosing your CV and current benefits package details, or call Mark Smith on 07747 847214 for an initial discussion.

Closing date for applications 23rd October 2020
