As Procurement Manager you will be joining a business who supply into key Top 4 retailers all year round, taking produce from 6 continents and over 35 countries. Their worldwide infrastructure is constantly innovating and is supported by a state of the art technology system which continues to help the business realise it’s true potential.

The Role

Our client is recruiting a Procurement Manager following their impressive growth over the last 3 years. The successful applicant will report into the UK Commercial Director and be part of a management team of 6.

The key purpose of this role is to develop and execute a strategic procurement strategy to deliver against all company KPI’s, whilst also providing inspiring day to day line management to all direct reports. Other accountabilities will include:

• Developing programs based on customer demand & supplier availability aligned to overall strategy.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers, placing orders and being responsible for the product throughout the supply chain.
• Developing and maintaining a strong supplier relationship, innovating within this area when necessary.
• Liaising with customers as required in order to illustrate product knowledge whilst also communicating on strategy.
• Leading supplier visits to learn and evolve the procurement strategy whilst also strengthening supplier relationships.
• Continually challenging supply chain processes to optimize product quality and facilitate the achievement of company targets.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity it is essential you have worked within the fresh produce industry and have experience operating across or within all procurement, commercial and supply chain functions. You must be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, with a highly professional attitude and keen eye for detail.
