Warehouse & Logistics Manager

£38-42K

East London

It’s not easy being a Logistics Manager, especially in the food and drink industry.

If something goes wrong between hauliers and customers, ullages and empties, software and storage, it’s usually your problem - although, naturally, you’re the only one who’s organised enough to know that it wasn’t actually your fault.

Like a mishandled keg of lager, work often explodes to fill the time available. This isn’t a 9-5 job. There might be the odd late night and a very occasional weekend callout.

It’s a labour of love.

So, shouldn’t you be doing it somewhere a little more loveable?

This small, ambitious East End brewery has all the ingredients in place to build something special – and you’d be right at the centre of things.

  • The company is just the right size for you to make an impact. It’s not a one-man start-up no one’s heard of, nor is it a bland corporate brand.
  • They’ve already outgrown their current warehouse and you’ll be heavily involved in the planning and design of a brand new one. A chance to do things your way, for a change
  • You’ll be working with an enthusiastic MD who’s had success in other sectors and who’s bringing fresh ideas to the brewing industry
  • There’s real potential to grow. Of course, it’s not written in stone, but there’s every chance you could become a director or department head.

You’ll probably see this as an ideal move either because you’re on your way up in drink logistics and want to take a chance on a brewery with a bright future.

Or, you like the idea of using the logistics experience you’ve gained with a bigger brewer at one that’s younger and more ambitious.

Whatever your background, you’ll need to be a confident, clear communicator with plenty of initiative and good problem-solving skills. You’ll also need to know how to use BrewMan (or similar software) and drive a forklift.

Above all, you want to feel involved – to be part of brewing great beer and growing the business. The more things take off, the more you’ll look forward to coming into work – even if it is at the weekend.
