An exciting time to be part of a growing business within our Marketing Communications team! This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to go permanent.
As the PR Manager for CSG, you will set the vision for our external communications by developing and delivering an innovative 3-year strategy. This should ensure that our organisational purpose, vision, and mission, core differentiators and ‘reasons to believe’ and business performance information is clearly cascaded and understood externally.
You will, therefore, be responsible for Public Relations and will proactively build our corporate reputation Develop engaging B2B and B2C PR activity aligned to business priorities and marketing activations.
You will manage corporate-level communication risk, including monitoring external media, crisis communications planning, and ensuring adequate processes are in place for Business Continuity communication. You will work to build and strengthen relations with industry bodies, political stakeholders, and decision-makers to ensure CSG is the ‘voice of independent retailers and own our corporate channels, including our corporate website, corporate Twitter, LinkedIn.
To enable the above you must also be able to manage a considerable operating budget and play an active role in the development of the Marketing team (processes and people), sharing best practice and supporting colleagues as and when required for the success of the team.
Please note, the nature of this role means that the individual will be part of our emergency cover arrangements and may be called on to work out of normal work hours or at weekends from time to time.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong alignment to the Company values and have the ability to articulate them to colleagues. This role requires experience either running an in-house PR or Comms team or within a Communications agency and you will need a breadth of experience across the various communications areas advertised is advantageous as is a blend of B2B and B2C experience.
You will have exception interpersonal skills: you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic, and able to relate to people on different levels with the business, our retailers, customers and the media and be a strategic thinker.
You will be a great presenter, able to communicate ideas to the business to presenting stories to journalists, you need to organise information in a succinct and interesting way to capture their attention.
