Commercial Manager / New Business – Foodservice
£42,459 to £50,987 Basic plus a lucrative bonus and choice of either a company car or ( generous ) car allowance
Our client is already a leader in spices, fats and oils into the various foodservice markets here in the UK, however a substantial capital injection from the American parent company has enabled them to build an additional production facility ( operational from January 2020 ), in addition to introducing a number of fantastic new products including some very exciting and very market specific marinades and chutneys. The company already has a foothold here in the UK, however the recent investment will allow the company to expand at considerable speed, and to really maximise its potential. You will also be actively encouraged for your input to NPD and in identifying further niche markets in order to further optimise the considerable potential. This will be a very exciting ride for the candidate lucky enough to land the job !
The main opportunities present in both the End User and the Wholesale channels, so although your foodservice End User experience can have been gained in pretty much any End User foodservice sector, it is essential that you also understand the wholesale channel including Brakes and / or Bidfood, along with the various buying groups made up of individual wholesalers. You will undoubtedly have an impressive track record in developing new business in the End User channel as well.
An integral part of you role will be to support the team of eleven Territory Managers and Area Managers in their own bid to maximise pull through at regional level from the various wholesalers and End User groups so you should be able to work closely with, and to win the immediate respect of you colleagues in the regions with whom you will be working. You will be seen as something of a leader in the field, and will be relied upon as a valuable source of reference. Man management experience is not required for this particular role however it might be a small bonus.
To be considered for this exciting role you should be prepared for regular and extensive travel including some nights away from home. You will also be required to attend a sales conference in the USA once each year ( usually in March and lasting three days ), as well as the occasional visit to the sister company in Spain ( infrequently but no more than twice each year ).
In return for your hard work and dedication our client is prepared to pay a basic salary of between £42,459 and £50,987 plus a lucrative bonus and choice of either a company car or ( generous ) car allowance. Career prospects are excellent !
