Sales Manager | Horticulture Industry | Essex | ~£45-65k
Are you an experienced sales professional with a background in selling to the commercial horticulture and garden sector? Are you able to work with customers to develop the best range of products to deliver increased sales? If so, we want to hear from you.

About Our Client
Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative products to the commercial horticulture industry. They work with nurseries and growers across the country to deliver quality products to the garden retailers for their consumers. They have been helping their customers deliver more efficient solutions and improved retail appeal for over 50 years. They have a relatively small team here in the UK with business ties to Europe and a wider support network.

About the Role
This role is all about improving commercial performance. This isn't just about selling. It's about working with customers to ensure that you are offering them the best products for what they need. It's about improving the range to ensure it meets requirements and helps the organic growth of the business. You will utilise your experience and knowledge of the commercial growers to build long term and collaborative relationships. You will be able to assess the financial viability of a product range and help the business to discontinue any lines that aren't contributing to the desired levels. You will be able to work with stakeholders within the business in the UK and Europe to assess the operational and supply chain implications of any new products and increases/decreases in SKU numbers. You will also utilise your experience in managing a field sales team to motivate team members and ensure that they are offering the best possible service to aid business growth.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced sales and commercial professional with a background in serving the commercial horticulture sector. You will have a proven track record of delivering sales, as well as improving product range and overall commercial performance of a business. You will be an influencer of people and be able to work with a field-based sales team as well as internal departments across different functions. You will ideally have worked for a European owned business in the past. You will understand the seasonality of the sector and the challenges that the nurseries and growers face. You will have strong communication skills and business acumen to make decisions and ensure the business buys-in to any changes. Ideally, you will be based in Essex or close by. You will be able to communicate effectively with the internal team members and local management to deliver results.

Minimum Requirements
Due to the niche nature of this role, to be considered for the position you will need to have sales experience in the horticulture sector. You will also need to be able to demonstrate your ability to motivate a sales team and identify commercial opportunities within the marketplace. You will also need to have the flexibility to travel abroad to meet with the wider business group.

Salary
~£45-65k + package DOE
