Area Sales Manager – Foodservice

£36,785 to £42,212 Basic plus bonus and company car.

Our client enjoys an enviable following in the world wrapping and food storage products into the professional foodservice channel. Currently the European market leader in professional food wrapping films and foils ( both low density polythene, as well as aluminium based products ) along with an ever expanding range of kitchen storage products. Trading successfully in the Americas and across Europe and with some business here in the UK, the company has identified an opportunity to invest heavily in the UK business and to duplicate the successes of the American and European operations. That investment involves the opening of a UK office plus dedicated warehouse and distribution facilities . The company has also invested in new production facilities to extend its current product range to include disposable serviettes and other catering disposables including other paper based products for both food preparation and cleaning purposes . The new products will be available from January 2020 and will be the perfect complement to the existing product range. This is an exciting time in the company’s history and opportunities abound !

To be considered for this exciting position you should be experienced in selling into the independent foodservice ( delivered ) wholesale market. Exposure to some kind of end users would be a small bonus however is far from essential ( that could be any kind of end users ranging from pubs to restaurants to schools and colleges or pretty much any end users ). It’s essential however that you have experience of the foodservice delivered wholesale channel, especially the independents.

Applications will be considered equally favourably from candidates from either  non-food / disposable / foodservice accessory background, along with candidates having sold food and drink products. It’s very much your wholesale channel experience, and you commercial savvy that are uppermost in importance.

In return for your dedication and effort our client is prepared to pay a basic salary of between £36,785 to £42,212 plus bonus and company car.

The job involves a substantial amount of travelling and some time away from home ( on average two days each week, depending on how you arrange your journey plan ), however you will be required to be in the  northern office at least once a week ( Leeds ) so would ideally be located in the Midlands or the North of the country. You will also be required to attend an annual sales conference in Germany in March each year ( three days ).
