Senior Category and Insight Manager – Boost Drinks

Boost Drinks started with one entrepreneur, a small office with no windows, two phones and a team of mice to keep us on our toes. Fast forward 17 years and we are an award-winning, well-known brand being sold in over ten countries!

Just like our drinks, our marketing is bold, fun, and energises everybody everyday. We are currently looking for a Category Manager who can drive our growth agenda.

The Category Manager is a mid-management level role that is a key player in driving our growth agenda. They are an expert in our products, our consumers, our customers and in our route to market. The Category Manager knows who, where, when, and why people buy and drink our products, so can make recommendations for how to maximise current opportunities and develop new ones.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in FMCG
  • Has a successful track record of category management
  • Is a wiz at analysing insights and sales data
  • Has experience creating top-notch category strategies
  • Is able to make strong recommendations with solid rationale

You will be responsible for:

  • Formulating category development plans and opportunities using a breadth of shopper, trade and consumer insight
  • Supporting the development of specific projects in line with brand plans
  • Own, manage and interrogate data
  • Establishing category relationships with key trade partners and encourage joint planning initiatives
  • Fostering strong and credible relationships
  • Maximise current opportunities, create and develop ones

You have a successful track record of:

  • Knowledge of FMCG industry (ideally within the food sector)
  • Able to develop product ranges and know how to approach NPD/EPD
  • Successful management of direct reports, to drive culture and show leadership skills
  • Achievement of budgeted KPI’s including sales, volume and margin
  • Understanding of, and therefore ability to work with other business functions
  • Be numerate and PC literate – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite

Education & experience

  • 5 years proven FMCG category management experience
  • Experience of wholesale and independent retail
  • Proven insight experience
  • Proven IRI and Sales Out expertise
  • Negotiation and influencing experience

You:

  • Are energetic, driven for results and resourceful
  • Have the ability to drive, interpret and lead consumer/shopper insight
  • Have good understanding and appreciation of core functions, especially marketing & sales
  • Are driven to make a difference
  • A brilliant communicator and a successful influencer

Boost is a privately-owned company based outside Leeds at Thorpe Park, this is a full-time role that reports into the Marketing Director. There's a solid remuneration package and you will get to work in a vibrant and engaged team, within a business that's growing. There may be some travel involved, mostly to star-studded award celebrations where the team is up for yet another marketing award!
