Business Manager- Maternity cover – 12 month contract starting mid-January

This role will work as part of the Commercial team working on the Sainsburys Magazine account reporting to the Business Development Director.  The key purpose of the role is to deliver and drive Sainsbury’s Magazine sainsburysmagazine.co.uk and Sainsbury’s Magazine Awards advertising sales targets within commercial. This is achieved through a combination of selling to clients direct; Sainsbury’s trading teams and i2c where appropriate and working with the sales team to achieve a cross platform sell.

We’ll keep you busy with

  • Building relationships with clients, Sainsbury’s trading teams and i2c.
  • Generating revenue from individual sales patch.
  • Supporting the Sales team with magazine and digital queries.
  • Working with ad sales team to optimise sales lead effectiveness.
  • Producing detailed activity reports and accurate forecasting of sales revenue.
  • Working closely with the digital editor to identify any new sales opportunities or initiatives.
  • Monitoring and adhering to targets and budgets.
  • Regular reporting and forecasting to the Commercial Director, of revenue position, business under discussion, and issues that may affect future success.

What skills and experience are we looking for….

  • Proven track record in media and advertising sales
  • Proactive, results orientated and accustomed to working to defined targets and schedules.
  • Experienced in managing, motivating and getting results from clients direct, Sainsbury’s trading teams, i2c and media agencies.
  • The ability to communicate and sell strategically at a senior level.
  • Experience in managing Shopper Marketing, Brand Managers & Senior National Account Managers.
  • Good communication skills with ability to build good working relationships with ad sales colleagues, editorial and publishing teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience of presenting to clients and internally.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills.

Hours and Location

  • We’re based in Farringdon.
  • Our core hours are 9.30-5.30 Monday- Thursday with an early finish at 4.30 on Fridays
