Born in March 2015, we are now one of London’s leading healthy food brands, operating across the supermarket, convenience and retail sectors as well as foodservice and events. We are going through a very exciting growth period – expanding our reach within the UK through key grocery and contract catering accounts.

We are now recruiting for a Head of Sales to lead our commercial team. We are a fast growing FMCG food business, with the opportunity for rapid career progression. Reporting to the CEO's, you will have responsibility for multiple UK retail and food service and contract catering customer base; developing a sales strategy that delivers against both company and customer KPI’s, with full budget and P&L responsibility.

You will define and have responsibility for delivering the sales function KPIs, analyse consumer and market trends to define data led strategies and tactics to optimise our commercial performance.

You will have line management responsibility for a commercial team of two, so experience of leading and motivating a small team is key.

This is a data-driven role & requires solid commercial acumen and a deep understanding of how to use consumer, market and product performance insights to improve sales performance.

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Head of Sales

Leadership/Strategy

  • Responsibility for creating and delivering the commercial strategy and weekly/monthly/annual KPI targets for the commercial team.
  • Management and growth of our commercial team; in both new business development and account management, ensuring delivery of company objectives.
  • Establishing and overseeing the adoption of company vision and values within the sales team.
  • Develop tools, templates and ways of working for the team to use to standardise the Pollen + Grace sales process.

Sales

  • Implement sales strategies and annual plans that achieve KPI’s for the business and growth targets of key accounts and new business development, including trade marketing activities.
  • Manage & develop key relationships and accounts on behalf of the business. Account management of our key retail customers; Ocado, Co-Op and new customers such as Tesco, Waitrose or Sainsbury’s.
  • Utilising data, insights and analytics tools to review product line performance for the purpose of reporting successes, weaknesses and opportunities for Pollen + Grace.
  • Development of a performance reporting dashboard.
  • Identify sales improvement opportunities to establish actionable insights to improve sales and business profitability.
  • Develop compelling category-led rationales for new business development (email approaches, presentations).
  • Management of our trading priorities including new product launches, range changes, promotions and trade marketing campaigns for the purpose of maximising sales opportunities.

Your profile

  • Experience in a sales position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, preferably working in the position of a Senior Sales / National Accounts Manager.
  • Proven and successful ability to lead a sales team towards growth in volumes and revenue, in a profitable manner, while displaying exceptional leadership skills and confidence.
  • Experienced in evaluating product/market performance data and transforming it into actionable sales strategies and tactics.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with an ability to tailor the message in clear, simple, digestible, and convincing terms.
  • Analytical skills, with a keen interest in conducting research and deriving data-driven insights.
  • High proficiency in Ms Office, especially excel and power-point.
  • Strong understanding of the grocery and food service market as well as the opportunities and limitations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to encourage openness and trust both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Persuasive and charismatic individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
