Our client is a leading nationwide supplier of coffee machines, and they are seeking a dynamic and driven National Account Manager to join their expanding team in the London or South East area.

Reporting into the sales director, the National Account Manager is responsible for delivering the sales and gross profit targets through a defined set of national accounts.

The business operates in B2B in the coffee sector, and as such their clients can be a wide range of professional businesses, including offices, hospitals, restaurants, retail chains, gyms and leisure centres, hotels, exhibition centres, public buildings; the list of potential customers is endless. The National Account Manager will ideally have experience of FMCG food industries, such as coffee, beverages, or other food products.

The successful candidate will improve market position for the business, and achieve financial growth. They will define long term goals and build customer relationships, as well as identify, develop and deliver new business opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prospect for potential new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising (within agreed parameters) or other means of generating interest coffee products to increase business
  • Develop robust pipeline of opportunities and identify decision makers within organisations to be able to deliver new business
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Develop rapport with clients, target sales and provide support to increase turnover and profit
  • Present new products, revisit existing services  to enhance existing relationships
  • Maximise new business growth and increase market share
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by providing excellent customer service, support and presenting solutions and/or management information
  • Work with existing clients to maximise areas of growth /sales e.g. re machine where base is aging or becoming unreliable
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external customer / client reviews
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM tool
  • Forecast, deliver and track sales and activity on accounts and be able to present overview monthly
  • Work with business administration team to document and maintain customer information on systems
  • Collaborate with service team to deliver and meet client requirements
  • Ensure company processes are followed and adhered to
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events, conferences and exhibitions to provide feedback and information on market trends
  • Using knowledge of market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s USP’s and differentiators
  • Understand company’s goal and purpose so to continually enhance company’s performance


Skills & Requirements:

  • Preferably educated to degree level
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in targeted sales environment
  • Proven track records of delivering sales and building strong customer relationships 
  • Persuasive and a good negotiator
  • Good knowledge of FMCG food or beverage industries (for example HORECA)
  • Excellent commercial awareness and financial understanding
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Driven, self-motivated with enthusiasm to achieve sales
  • Ideally based in London or around the M25 / South East area.

In return the business will offer a competitive base salary of around £45,000, depending on experience with a very achievable OTE of over £65k.
