Category Manager

Multiple new Category Manager vacancies, working for a variety of different FMCG brands. One role in particular is quite unique and we would love to discuss with any budding category or insight managers, looking to explore their options!

The ideal candidate will be a tenacious and self starting with a previous experience in a customer facing role.

You will be able to build and deliver sound Category Strategies based on consumer/shopper insights ensuring growth for key customers

Given we have multiple roles, the below is pretty fluid at this stage, but will give you a flavour:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the annual category plan to execute the category vision, merchandising and promotional strategies.
  • Identify and manage customer specific category initiatives and projects to increase sales and profitability.
  • Lead and deliver the range, seasonal review and gap analysis processes with customers.
  • Range management.
  • Lead and deliver the promotional calendar.
  • Lead and deliver merchandising reviews and point of purchase tactics.
  • Category performance tracking.


The Requirements:
  • Previous Category Management experience working within a retailer facing role.
  • Educated to degree level or the equivalent.
  • Experience of managing a small team would be desirable.
  • Expert user of Nielsen / IRI and Kantar databases.
  • Results driven and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship builder.
