My client is one of the oldest international brands and is among the best-known and most respected names in the DIY industry, with millions of products in use worldwide. The brand is part of a larger business and are very financially stable with strong YOY growth figures.
Due to an internal re-structure, the business is recruiting a Sales & Marketing Director. Reporting into the Managing Director, you will head of the Sales & Marketing team. Approximately 6 direct reports and 14 indirect reports across Sales & Marketing. The role will be focussed around DIY Trade & Retail channels including Grocery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a strong and positive contribution to the strategy and policies of the company
- Promote Sales & market share growth through all targeted retail distribution channels
- Consistently protect and promote the brand
- Effectively manage the marketing budget
- Work closely with the Product Management team to ensure the effective delivery of the marketing strategy
- Analyse Marketing performance and ROI
- Identify key commercial and ensure successful implementation throughout the business
- Plan and direct the marketing and sales activities to achieve the agreed financial targets and standards for the business
- Develop clear, creative and positive responses to competitive pressures and implement them through a regional sales force
- Work closely with product leads to determine product ranges and pricing models in response to market demands
- Set targets that ensure the right actions are taken by the sales team across all channels
The ideal candidates will:
- Be able to clearly demonstrate strong sales team management including a track record of meeting and beating sales targets and budgets
- Have strong commercial acumen
- Have knowledge and experience of dealing with all parts of distribution chain
- Be a strong leader
- Have a DIY product background
- Be performance driven
- Be results driven
- Must have Retail experience
- Have excellent teamwork skills
- Have both Sales & Marketing experience
