We are looking to recruit an experienced Trade Marketing Manager for Bel UK. You will have the opportunituy to strategically develop the flagship baby Bel brand in the retail channels in the UK and potentially Nordic region, managing the retailer buy-in and shopper attraction to the brand. The business has several internationally recognised brands outiside of Baby Bel inluding; The Laughing Cow, Leerdammer, Boursin and Port Salut. Overview 

Drive vision and strategic recommendations for trade marketing as part of Bel UK plans :

  • Work alongside one other Trade Marketing Manager to develop a vision for Trade Marketing within Bel UK
  • Identify channel, retailer and shopper insights and share amongst wider commercial teams
  • Act as lead for representing the voice of the retailer & shopper within the annual business planning process
  • Develop annual proposals to leverage our brands within channels/retailers and to generate shopper attraction
  • Initiate business planning by retailer (with the category management team)
  • Tailor promotional guidelines in line with NAM’s, category management & marketing team
  • Adapt brand plans into tailored selling stories per retailer

Execute trade marketing with excellence to generate shopper attraction to our brands:

  • Plan the annual shopper marketing investment and execute brand campaigns in store and online in line with retailers’ agenda, managing agencies where necessary.
  • Deliver tactical NDP/EPD (new formats, case sizes, re-pack…) according to channel’s priorities and parameters (ie size of prize, brand objectives…)
  • Deliver game changing shopper marketing activations and projects ie shipper, front of store, high visibility
  • Analysis to measure results (including ROI) and report back to business on performance

Drive retailer performance securing retailer buy in to plans:

  • Deliver trade stories based on brand performance
    • Recommending new listing targets, and/or activations, driven by both brand and retailer’s strategy
    • Plan retailer objectives for brand NPD projects
    • Support category management team in their arguments to win/ defend distribution with the retailer buying team
    • Analysis in conjunction with category management, sales and marketing to develop proposals
  • Develop relationships with the trade: new relationships with retailers’ trade planners and activation agencies as well as involvement into commercial meetings with buyers when relevant

Develop relationships with Bel UK cross functional teams and the global trade community:

  • Act as a key lead in facilitating marketing and sales team alignment ensuring that both the voice of the brands and the retailers are heard when business decisions are taken
  • Regular participation and attendance at the key monthly Marketing, Sales Team, NPD and Commercial meetings
  • Learn best practices from other countries and push UK’s agenda at Global Sales Summit (together with Catman team) whilst developing networks with global colleagues to unlock potential synergies

To be a success in this role you should:

  • Be degree educated
  • have a minimum 4 years’ experience in any commercial marketing, strategy or sales environment
  • Have experience of presenting to clients and / or managing large scale retailer animations
  • Have a strategic disposition and be comfortable working with numbers
  • Be results driven
