Title : Area Sales Manager

Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager

Based at: Home

Principle purpose of position (Summary):

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for growing the MAT, exceeding value and profit targets for kff within a defined geographical area, by selling a range of chilled, dry and frozen products from the kff range. Area Sales Managers are expected to be able to create their own opportunities and develop business in both existing and new business sectors.

The ASM has a direct report into the Regional Sales Manager on that area.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • To exceed both sterling sales target and the company profit margin target.
  • Maximize business for the company through existing customer base using intelligent and efficient call coverage.
  • Generate own new business opportunities with customers matching KFFs’ target profile.
  • Track daily, weekly and quarterly performance against agreed KPI’s and targets.
  • Make sure all administration is up to date and acted upon.

Competency profile required/Person specification:

  • Preferably minimum 2 years sales experience in Food Sector sales, showing a result’s driven sales career to-date.
  • Has passion for food and can demonstrate creativity in menu design and understands portioning control, menu planning and financial costing etc.
  • Competent in demonstrating that they can communicate at all levels both verbally and written.
  • Confident in cold calling as well as customer care and development of existing customers.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • PC Literate and confident in using Microsoft packages especially excel.
  • Can demonstrate a “self –starter” approach to their role and own development.
  • Understanding of the principles of Persuasive/Consultative Selling process.
