Laboratory Team Leader (Microbiology/Chemical) – DAYS ROLE

Location: Manchester (M17)

Shift: Monday – Friday (08:00-16:00PM) * Successful candidates will be flexible to be contacted outside of working hours if necessary, within business needs! *

Salary: £35,000 + Package, Package and Bonus (up to 10%)

 

We are currently on the hunt for a Laboratory team leader to join our client, a much-loved global food and drink manufacturer at an exciting time of growth. Due to company growth and a true emphasis on quality this role has become available. You will be working with a wide range of branded and private label products delivering and contributing to their drive-in achieving excellence.

 

We are currently looking to recruit a team leader to join their site within the food processing site, you will manage a team of roughly 10 and be passionate about leading through your team, instilling confidence to deliver excellence and quality within procedures and products. This role is ideal to develop further within a global company

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Provides expertise through chemical & Microbiological technical knowhow.
  • Strong influencing and communication capability.
  • Uses leadership competencies to guide, motivate and develop the team.
  • Acts as a coach and mentor for team and others across site.
  • Advanced problem solving facilitation skills using various methodologies.
  • Acts as a role model to the team and drives performance management systems.
  • Responsible for laboratory budget, management and other quality management system duties.
  • Create purpose and direction around objectives, goals, strategy and measures.
  • Coaching front line team members, enabling them to solve problems.
  • Supports and process confirms operations quality control responsibilities.
  • Responsible for development of direct team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drives continuious improvment opportunities through team.
  • Looks and encourages others to find “waste” opportunities in everything that we do.
  • Encourages others to seeks out improvement opportunities within the workplace.
  • Owns and delivers continuious improvement initiatives  and is recognised for these.
  • Utilises all available opportunities, enabling others to improve the way we do things.
  • Collaboratively works with other teams to improve the Müller business.
  • Supports team to demonstrate continuous improvement contribution through the personal development plan process.

  • HACCP Award - Level 3
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Microbiology and aseptic techniques
  • Internal Audit
  • Advanced Problem solving skills
  • Fit for Leadership
  • Problem solving
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
  • Electronic Data Capture
  • Report writing
  • Dairy Science
