About to bump your noggin?
Hitting a glass ceiling in your career can be painful, especially if you get stuck there for a while. You can see the path ahead - SNAM, Account Controller, Account Director, Sales Director but somehow, you’re running out of head-room.
The step from customer management to people management and strategic leadership is nuanced. It’s hard to say you’ve managed people until you’ve actually done it, not in my client’s opinion though.
People who lead are people who inspire. If you can lead and inspire the customer and other stakeholders, you can probably lead and inspire a team. Our client understands that leadership and inspiration are most of the way there to being a good manager. Sure, there’s structure and technique, but leadership has to be the foundation.
As a Senior NAM for ASDA (our client’s biggest account), you’ll be getting opportunities to lead. There’s a clear path here for you to pick up ALDI.
ALDI + ASDA means exposure to balancing a portfolio of critically important retail accounts.
You’ll be encouraged to mentor and develop other members in the wider team who are developing their craft as NAMs. The natural step on from this would be managing another Account Manager who’s developing their skill-set on smaller accounts.
