National Account Manager | Food Service | Home Based in the South

About our Client

Our client is a leading food service provider and specialises in a variety of fresh food categories. They supply national accounts through pub groups, restaurants, casual dining and out of home channels. They have helped some of the big high street names grow over the years and have a great reputation for quality products and service. The team is passionate about food and the job they do. The business is all about building long term relationships with it's customers and to deliver the very best.

About the Role

This role is all about delivering account growth with customers. Due to the business development team winning new contracts, this is a newly created role to drive sales and commercial results through affective account management. You will utilise you experience in managing food service accounts to deliver great service and account growth. You will be able to help the customers forecast and drive sales forwards whilst also minimising any waste. You will be able to work at real pace and be comfortable communicating with your accounts regularly, working together to solve any potential issues before they arise. You will understand what goes into serving your customers from an operational perspective and be able to work closely with internal teams to deliver the best possible solutions for your customers and the business. You will use your can-do attitude and relationship management skills to look for opportunities for account growth in every meeting, and then deliver the required work to exceed targets.

The Ideal Candidate

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of delivering account growth and increased sales in the food service sector. You will be hungry and driven to progress your own skills and your career. You will be able to communicate clearly at all levels and be able to influence internal and external stakeholders. You will understand the complexity of the food service supply chain and be able to work at pace. Many of our clients products have a short shelf life and so, the business moves fast; so you will need to be able to work at real pace. Ideally, you will have experience in short shelf life, fresh, chilled foods, but this is not a must have.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have experience in a commercial account management role within the food service channel - profit sector is preferable. You will need to show a desire and hunger to progress yourself and the accounts you manage. You will be home based, but be flexible and able to travel as required. Someone based south of the midlands would be advantageous due to the location of customers and the head office.

Salary

Our client is open to a more junior person taking a step up, or a more established account manager with higher salary demands. As a guide the role will likely sit in the £35-45k salary bracket, and will also include a car, bonus and a strong benefits package.
