Commercial Manager | Fresh Produce | Kent
We are working with a highly regarded fresh produce business who are currently looking to employ an experienced Commercial Manager to help them achieve and further their plans for growth. A background in fresh produce (preferably fruit) will be important, albeit open minded on the type of products you have experience of. Also open minded on customer experience and whether this is more retail/discounter focussed or wholesale / foodservice / B2B focussed. As long as it is at a high enough level to help drive effective conversations then it will all be considered. The business has a great working atmosphere and you get a real sense that people enjoy coming to work there.
You will be working very closely with the Head of Department ensuring all the company's actions are driving the business in the right direction.
Naturally, you will be one of the businesses Ambassadors. This means that whenever you are visiting customers or suppliers that the ethics and reputation of the business are paramount.
Identifying and approaching new customers is going to be important as well. This is a competitive market, but they have a great offering which has appealed to a lot of retailers so far.
You will have good commercial experience within fresh produce (ideally fruit) and be familiar with both customer and supplier facing responsibilities.
At this stage, we are open minded on the type of commercial relationships, whether they are retail facing or non-retail.
As mentioned above, company fit is crucial. This is clearly not something you can know when you apply, but the weighting for this role is going to be heavily leaning towards this.
