Our client is a well-respected international FMCG business currently experiencing unprecedented growth. An opportunity has arisen for a commercially-astute Category Executive to join the business within the Convenience & High Street Discounter channel.
The key remit for the role of Category Executive is to be the category management interface in this channel; you will be liaising with key stakeholders and other strategic partners using insight as a growth driver for the business. This position offers fantastic senior and cross-functional exposure, both internally and externally, working alongside the Category, Brand and Shopper Marketing teams, as well as Sales, and reporting directly into the Category Director.
You will act as a trusted category advisor, involved in developing annual category strategy and plans to identify significant category opportunities for the channel in addition to delivery of these strategies. You will understand the key trends and dynamics shaping the channel and evaluate the results of commercial initiatives to determine their effectiveness Vs category/ consumer/shopper objectives. This is a fantastic career development role due to the broad responsibility and customer ownership you will get, ideal for a proactive and passionate Category Executive keen to develop and start managing their own customer portfolio with a view to progress to Category Manager, realistically within 12-18 months.
You will be educated to degree level, ideally in marketing or business and posses relevant commercial and/or marketing experience within an FMCG environment. A full UK/EU driving license is essential, as is the ability to travel regularly within the UK and Ireland as required.
