Job Title - Key Account Manager

To reside - South East/Midlands

Salary – circa £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience plus car allowance and bonus.

The Opportunity

We are working with a British manufacturer of packaging solutions for the food processor and foodservice sectors, many products are environmentally friendly and are either recycled, recyclable or compostable, these are both off the shelf or bespoke to customer requirements. Our partner organisation also exports products including paperboard packaging, plastic packaging and packaging equipment to over 50 different countries across the globe.

The Job Function

To proactively manage the commercial relationships with agreed customers and prospects, maximising profitability and loyalty via best in class account management. To create, develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities in order to achieve financial milestones. To report on customer and competitor activity, to manage the demand with customers to ensure high levels of customer service and delivery are maintained.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a structured FMCG sales professional that is comfortable in their ability to grow key accounts through the development of new business by prospecting, cross selling and up selling, and to also be able to defend and manage key accounts and associated margins. We are seeking graduate calibre sales professionals that have worked in the FMCG, CPG sectors for a manufacturer, that is familiar with selling via distributors and to end users. You will be a Key Account Manager, possibly a National Account Executive or even maybe a National Account Manager, your journey is not complete, you wish to be a Senior National Account Manager!

You must be able to demonstrate success in your recent employment of how you have grown your account base through innovative methods, you will be a polished communicator, IT literate and numerate. You will be commercially astute and be able to demonstrate a structure approach to business development.
