My client is a leading importer and trader of ambient products into the UK retail and foodservice channels. Their head office in West Yorkshire is home to their technical, UK sales, marketing and procurement functions.

Due to their continued growth they are now seeking a Compliance Manager to join their busy technical division based in West Yorkshire. As Compliance Manager you will take responsibility of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring programmes are both compliant and implemented. You will be expected to lead audits including BRC, MSC etc, ensuing the business continues to remain compliant for the future.

Additional functional duties will include:

• Taking leadership of the HACCP team.
• Writing and implementing company policies and procedures.
• Managing the organisations internal audit schedule and closing out any non-conformances.
• Training new starters on QMS procedures.
• Being the company lead on food legal labelling.
• Being proactive in providing recommendations to the organisation based on the changes within legislation.
• Supporting supplier audits as and when necessary.

The ideal candidate for this assignment will have experience working within a technical or compliance function within a food manufacturer / importer. It is expected that you will have an in-depth working knowledge of the BRC standard. It would be beneficial if you also have experience of agents and brokers BRC standard, however this is not essential. Having the ability to write policies and procedures in a clear and concise manager will certainly work in your favour once you are established within the business.
