Our client are a prestigious multinational Foodservice distributor, operating in over 10 different countries across Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Due to exceptional growth they are now looking to hire a Meat Specialist for their offices in London.

The Role:

You will be responsible for growing the Wagyu sales and hit the targets set. You will be working with both existing customers, nurturing and developing accounts as well as securing new business for the company.

  • Responsible for driving penetration and growth of the new brand through consultative sales activities with targeted customers, both independently and within the Sales team
  • Develop and present selling training materials, taking responsibility for team knowledge throughout the category
  • Working closing with the team, including new product development, ordering and forecasting - ensuring smooth procurement
  • Assist the New Business Development team in opening accounts with high potential, helping provide new customers with a high level of expertise
  • Daily management of specialist portfolio, handling all high-level customer queries and requests
  • Drive KPI's across the category including sales growth, category penetration, organisation and sales support
  • Monthly reporting on sales performance of the category against set targets
  • Building and strengthening relationships with decision makers within the industry
  • Developing opportunities with existing groups according to the sales strategy
  • Representation of the company image, brand and service through visits, events and media
  • Providing Management team with information regarding the level of outside competition and general market activities
  • Working closely with the Quality Department to ensure that all quality standards are upheld for meat products

The Candidate:

This role would be ideal for a candidate that has previously worked as a Butcher/Executive Chef however made the transition into a commercial Meat role for the last 5-7 years. This position is an extremely strategic hire for the client, having full autonomy of the launch of the new premium Wagyu brand for the UK.


  • Meat specialist with deep, comprehensive product knowledge and experience within the food industry of at least 5+ years
  • Extensive prior experience of successful sales within the food industry, with a proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth in a business
  • Strong commercial acumen with strengths in reporting, numeracy and forecasting
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly developed pitching and negotiation skills
  • Able to build strong relationships, both externally and internally
  • Demonstrates perseverance and resilience in the pursuit of goals
  • Passion for high quality meat, butchery and cooking
  • Chef or butcher background
  • Australian / In depth knowledge of the Australian Beef Industry
  • Previous brand management
