An excellent opportunity has arisen within a leading food retailer who is seeking a Head of Buying to join their dynamic and expanding team in London
The successful Head of Buying must have demonstrable experience gained from food retailing. Managing a team of buyers your responsibilities as the buyer controller will be to source great product, all cost price negotiation and supplier management, this is across branded and own label products. The successful Head of Buying will have a proven track record in leading a team to develop innovative buying strategies which exceeds customers’ expectations and delivers the targeted sales and profit targets. Your responsibilities as the Head of Buying will be to develop and deliver the category vision including championing the drive for improved cash sales, margin delivery and building mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers. Reporting to the Buying Director you will inspire and lead the team to develop innovative buying strategies delivering sales, margin and availability targets. You will be someone who is currently working in a buying role within a fast-paced food retailer. You will have expertise in category thinking and will bring strategic vision and thought leadership. In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer and a flair for commerciality.
