Guaranteed feeds, comfortable surroundings (albeit a little pokey), always warm and safe. But safe can be boring, right?

I think if you can fly, you would be always yearning to spread your wings and soar, surely?

This isn't an advert to become a canary by the way, but I make the point because the metaphor works for this Business Development Manager post.

Here we have a superb business (approaching its centenary year!) that is looking to expand and improve on a winning formula. The Business Development Manager for Ready Meals will work closely with a Development Chef and NPD team to build new accounts whilst nurturing and managing existing customers.

Here's the thing though... you will be coming from an NPD background - looking to break into, or continue your recent move into sales. Perhaps a Development Chef already, or a Product Developer or even Technologist... you have a burning desire to spread your wings... or more accurately, break free of the kitchen cage and get on the open road.

Why? The company is good. No bull.. they have been a family business for generations BUT they listen to all those around them and so the company as a whole gets to drive the business and shape its future successes. This role demands the same. You can take your communication and presentation qualities to customers all over the country. Working with their development teams and your Development Chef partner back at base, to create products that really fit the bill and work for your customers.

Its not a 'run-of-the-mill' Sales position. You ARE shaping the meals, designing the solution to your customer's needs. Its a role that is the perfect fit if you're one of those people that wants to use your technical know-how, but you love being in front of your customers, and thrashing out the challenges. You will also be involved and support the frozen foods and the food-service business. Getting to work with a variety of customers for more than 100 lines - you will be busy and never bored!

Having a hand in the products you sell makes a huge difference. When you're part of the strategy and not just the execution it means so much more.
