This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-known household brand with over 80 years trading history. The business is a market leader within their sector with sales in excess of £100m last year. They are now looking for a Specifications Manager to join their team.  

The successful candidate will be required to ensure the integrity, legal and contractual compliance of all finished products through the management of specifications, while maintaining and developing all technical relationships with key accounts and supporting the sales team to assist with all technical queries across all channels within the agreed timeframes.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:

• Management of two direct reports, supporting them within workload, reporting and development.
• Accountability for ensuring that all arcuate specifications are kept to while generating accurate and legally compliment artwork, (consulting with 3rd party legal teams when applicable)
• To implement and maintain packing specifications within the factory to ensure legal and food safety labelling is correct.
• Retaining all communications and decision-making to enable business visibility and audit trails
• Support the NPD process through the calculation of nutritional information and ingredient specifications within the submission phase of development
• Conducting checks of artwork and labelling accuracy as well as insuring compliance against pack copy, Codes of Practice and Labelling Legislation
• Endeavor to continually improve business efficiency through the implantation of new processes and procedures that improve both the efficiency while closing potential loopholes.

The business is ideally looking for somebody from a FMCG background, with 3yrs+ experience, a Food Science Degree is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of EU/UK regulatory affairs as well as a keen eye for detail and understanding of raw material legal requirements and underlying issues/ramifications to reduce food safety and business risks.
