Stuck in a Rut or Running Through Walls? Brand Manager...
When I was a kid, I wanted to be an archaeologist.
Indiana Jones set me off on a path to muddy trenches, eccentric professors, summer sun, winter rain and bad knees.
Why am I telling you this?
I ended up in recruitment. Turns out I like it a lot, but not everyone enjoys what they ended up doing as much as me.
When you started in marketing, what did you want from it?
Creative leadership? Kudos from working with a big brand? Watching strategy deliver sales? A seat at the table on the biggest decisions? Celebrating killer campaigns and winning awards?
How’s that gone for you?
Ever feel like you’re a post-man for last year’s shopper marketing brief again…? Sales drive the ship, whilst your busy repair the damage? Brand equity got drained by a bad technical team? Facilitator or creator? Stuck in a rut or running through walls?
Is your marketing job delivering RoI for your own personal brand or are you just treading water?
We’re working with Symington’s to help them recruit a Brand Manager for their home-baking and cooking sauces brands.
If you’re looking to join a crowd of entrepreneurs, innovators and actions-before-words types, Symington’s won’t let you down. They won’t be interested in your DNA, unless they can see that you know you influence. Your seat at the table will be justified by the results you drive through your creative thinking, your graft and your ability to design value into products from concepts and insights.
Close-knit, fun, mad about what they do, the team will be relying on you to deliver. You won’t need to worry about being heard because you’ll be expected to speak up.
You’ll own the strategy, activation, insights, ATL & BTL spend and shopper focus. You’ll champion your brand internally and externally; you’ll listen and hone and refine the great base you’re working from delivering great returns for your investors.
You’ll be stretched and challenged to do a lot with strong but moderate budget. Where’s the killer play though that will unlock success and growth? Well really, that’s why we’re after you. You know you’ve got the creative flow needed to drive these brands to the next level. The problem for you is that no-one is listening and when they are, it’s too late.
Fast to act and quick to market, speed and excellence in delivery are a key component in Symington’s winning approach.
We’re working with their board as they invest in their brands and the size and reach of their marketing team. It’s an exciting time to join and you’ll be in a key driving seat with the senior leadership team as they unlock the next stage of growth.
Development and progression is high on your agenda and it’s high on the agenda for Symington’s. Committed to sharpening the skills of their best people, they recently set up a new and innovative Talent Academy.
If you’re looking to realise what you hoped a career in marketing could be, get in touch.
