Area Sales Manager | Horticulture
We are working with a really successful and highly sought after business who supply a truly broad range of goods to the horticulture sector. They supply a full range of products to large growers/packers, large garden centres, independents and everything in between. Due to growth, they are now looking for additional support in the North to help sell a number of their Added Value products to a range of retailers across their customer base. You will have a lot of autonomy to manage your area in a way that you see fit and that will deliver the best results to the business.
You will manage a large area and ensure that the garden centres and other relevant retailers are aware of the company and the full range of products they can supply.
You will need to visit Head Office occasionally (in the South) to ensure you understand the culture of the business and have the best possible chances to succeed.
Working closely with the Commercial Director, you will have direct contact to ensure you have all possible sales tools at your disposal.
You will have a good understanding of the horticultural sector, in particular selling into large garden centre groups, as well as independents.
Area sales experience will be important but understanding account management techniques is crucial as well.
Clear and effective communication is essential, especially being based in your own area, far from the Head Office. Crucial for the business to understand what you have done, but also for you to know you have the support you need.
