The Advocate Group is a search and selection consultancy specialising on mid – senior level appointments within the Manufacturing & FMCG sectors.

About Our Client

Our Client is a 2nd generation family owned industrial manufacturing business based in the North West of the UK.

Due to recent investment and new client contracts being signed our client is looking to upskill across all areas of the business starting with the Human Resources department. This division has previously been managed by an external HR consultancy but due to the head count growth and the huge opportunity following investment my client is looking to bring this all internal.

  • Responsible for the upskilling of all divisions across the entire group.
  • Supporting territory Manging Directors with all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Reporting to the CEO ( America ) 


Job Description

 

  • Serving as head of all Human Resources related projects within the group.
  • Develop and implement a HR strategy to serve alongside the aggressive upskilling growth plans for the group.
  • Ensuring all employment policies, practices and procedures are in line with best practice, legally compliant and contribute to the motivation and retention of quality employees.
  • Providing guidance and information to the management team and board directors offering support with all HR policies, procedures, practices and employment law and matters generally.
  • Ensuring that employees have a professional journey into the business and are recruited / selected and developed, using appropriate methods, to meet the Company’s current and anticipated needs.
  • Developing, guiding and supporting the inception, management and implementation of organizational development and change.
  • Co-ordinating the planning and implementation of relevant training and development programs designed to improve performance and develop potential.
  • Ensuring the HR Administrative procedures support the needs of the business.
  • HRIS: ensure adoption of a new HR information system to ensure the completeness and integrity of all people data, enable automation of key local and global processes (payroll, approvals, hiring, absence management, performance and development management)
  • Drives the HR related integration priorities of newly acquired businesses.
  • Review and analyse the effectiveness of the newly introduced performance and development process
  • Identify efficiency's and process improvement across the Group to add clear financial value

 

Successful candidate

The successful candidate will have a strong and successful career as an all-round Human Resources Generalist, delivering upskilling project across multiple divisions within a fast paced environment.

Ideally the successful applicant will have a proven track record of implementing and also managing the introduction of continuous improvement methodology.

An ability to work at pace will be essential, as will the ability to ensure the people strategy is scalable and appropriate for the various International territories it will support. Ideally candidates will come from a fast paced lean manufacturing environment. In summary - a well-rounded HR generalist who is happy establishing process and procedure as well as contributing to the longer term vision of the group. We are especially interested in those from FMCG, Automotive, Aerospace and General Manufacturing businesses.

With strong communication skills and an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, the candidate should also be a brand advocate and be able to represent the business across all country locations. The individual will need to be results driven, capable of operating at a strategic level but be equally focused on hands on delivery and ownership of all aspects operational HR.

In Addition Candidates Must

  • Have general knowledge of the principles and practices of International / European human resources management having worked in a multi-national organisation across different regions
  • Work in a Fast Paced environment  - FMCG, Manufacturing, Packaging, Automotive, Aerospace, Food or Drink based organisations
  • Have an ability to make recommendations and provide solutions to problems or issues
  • Be a perceptive, strong listener who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels and able to establish and clearly add value and contribute to the efficiency of the business
  • Be numerate, articulate, confident and an excellent communicator
  • Have an ability to work flexibly, calmly and efficiently whilst responding to multiple and ever changing business priorities
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, results orientated and dynamic individual prepared to go the extra mile
  • Have experience with process improvement and acquisitions / business integration

 

In Addition Candidate Must Have

  • Level 7  (CIPD fully qualified)
  • 10+ years of relevant, progressive experience in roles of increasing seniority
  • Have experience with process improvement and acquisitions / business integration
  • A willingness to travel internationally to support the business as needed. Travel will not be substantial.
