Business Development Manager

The Role

We are looking for a senior sales professional, with the experience and drive to ensure that the Crosta & Mollica Italian specialities are made available to even more customers. The Business Development Manager will deliver the new opportunities in independent retailers, convenience, health food stores, bars, coffee shops and food to go. They will also help develop our thriving food service business.

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Commercial Director and will be based in the Clapham office.

Responsibilities

  • Sales growth and increased distribution of the C&M products
  • Achieving and exceeding revenue targets, profitability and growth
  • To write and deliver our strategies for the customer channels
  • Provide an excellent customer experience and continually strive to improve it
  • Working with our Head of Marketing to select the trade shows & events at which Crosta & Mollica will exhibit

The Person

We are a small team and therefore are looking for someone who can fit in effortlessly and who has the following qualities:

  • Sales and target driven
  • Working knowledge of the sales cycle
  • A proven record of finding and delivering new sales opportunities of scale
  • Networking effectively to find and build relationships with key contacts
  • Use of multiple information sources to scope out opportunities and inform their plans
  • Able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude
  • Able to communicate effectively, both internally and externally
  • A love of fine Italian food

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience
  • At least 5 years recent experience working with UK Food & Drink Wholesalers/Distributors selling fine food and/or premium drinks into independent retailers, convenience, health food stores, bars, coffee shops and food to go
  • Knowledge and experience of the trade shows and/or events that C&M should target to find new customers
  • Writing and implementing channel strategies
  • P&L responsibility
  • Data analysis (category, market and EPOS)
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel & Power Point

Remuneration:         

  • Competitive salary £50k+
