MEMBERSHIP SERVICES MANAGER

Location- Blackhall, Edinburgh

Salary- Circa £20,000

Hours- Full-Time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (additional working hours may be required for attendance at events etc)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident individual with excellent sales experience to take over the role of Membership Services Manager, with the opportunity to progress into Business Development for the company.    Using your knowledge of the independent convenience store sector and your ability to engage with potential and current customers, you will play a vital role within the organisation to help maintain these relationships and build our membership base.

Job Details:  This position has become available within a trade organisation based in Edinburgh looking after the needs of the independent convenience retail trade (incorporating multiples/discounters).  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to take over the role of Membership Services, with the opportunity to progress into Business Development for the company. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Gain a thorough and full understanding/knowledge of the convenience retailing industry in order to intelligently converse with customers/members
  • Production and maintenance of a comprehensive database of all members
  • Production of all membership materials
  • Distribution of communications to all potential new members and current members
  • Establish leads with potential new customers/members
  • Arrange meetings with potential customers/members and SGF personnel
  • Build professional relationships with potential new customers/members
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with current customers/members

To be considered for this position, candidates should have the following skills and background:

  • Previous experience in administration
  • Proven experience of sales background
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Persistent and Results-Orientated
  • Patient and able to handle customer rejection
  • Ability to influence
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel on occasion
