A highly reputable client of mine has been in touch with regards to a fantastic new opportunity to join their business. The company is looking for a highly experienced Head of Sales with a background in the consumer goods industry, but more specifically, DIY, Housewares or Garden. You will also have previously managed a sales team, including the ability to review sales performance and apply analytical techniques to evaluate key sales trends.

The company is still a family run business to this day and have been trading here in the UK for over 160 years! They employ 200 people throughout the company and have successfully grown the business YoY for the last 20 years.

You will need to be able to work in a strategic manner and develop tactics for future profitable sales growth, as well as participate in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. The ability to generate and maintain strong relationships, not only between yourself and your team but with key customers of the business is highly important.

The ideal candidate will have previous man-management experience across an extensive sales team, inclusive of Field Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, National Account Managers and in-house sales support functions.

You will also need to be familiar with the business’s methods of distribution, which include shipping direct from their 3 UK based warehouses, FoB and dropship distribution.

A candidate coming from the Home housewares, DIY or Garden industries would be successful in this role. You will also need to be based within a commutable distance to Loughborough, in order to touch base with the Head Office on a regular basis.
