Why work as part of our category team? 

As a Senior Category Manager you will be influential in developing our partnership with one of our most important strategic customers, and will help build the internal strategy and direction for some of our key business platforms. You’ll get to work with some truly talented individuals, not only within our Category & Insights team, but also across our Sales, Brand Marketing, Commercial Planning & NPD teams. We are always looking for ways to grow our business and our customers’ businesses, so this is a role where you have the opportunity to work strategically and to make a real impact. 

What does your typical day look like? 

In this role you will work closely with one or more of our biggest customers, to develop strong partnerships and establish our expertise by providing recommendations to drive category growth. Alongside our Sales teams you will work to maximise opportunities for the BBCo portfolio and deliver our targets. Internally you will work alongside various internal teams – both brand and retailer brand - to develop our business by identifying opportunities, future strategic direction, and creating brilliant selling stories. 

You will have line management responsibility for a Junior Category Manager, ensuring they are on track with their responsibilities and acting as a mentor & coach to develop them. 

What are the key ingredients needed for the role? 

To be successful in this role, you need to have a great track record in Category, and have worked on a Top 4 UK retailer account. This would be an exciting opportunity either for an established Senior Category Manager looking for a role with real ownership and business impact, or an experienced Category Manager ready to step up in a big way. 

It is important to be able to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders; to be able to create actionable insight and compelling stories from a range of data sources – including working with the data itself – and to balance a fast-paced and varied range of responsibilities, both internal and external.
