The Company 

A fantastic and rare opportunity to join a UK household favourite confectionery brand, Terry's chocolate that has over £50m (RSV) sales across multiple channels. Now owned by our client Carambar, a brand new European confectionery company set up with PE backing to realise the potential of a number of iconic brands, you can be involved at the very outset of an exciting new venture, as they set up Terry’s Chocolate Co. as a UK start-up.

With a clear vision and strategy for growth, the business has set its sights on significantly expanding its UK operations over the next few years. They intend to invest heavily in the market, including significant expenditure in brand marketing and importantly, people.

The Role

As a result, the company is now seeking two dynamic and driven National / Senior National Account Managers to take on full P&L responsibility for managing some of the UK’s Top Retail Grocery / Discounter customers. Reporting to the UK/I Country Director, the roles are high profile and will have a broad remit. These are exciting and challenging roles that require strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of successfully managing a large trade spend budget and driving profitable category growth. Both roles will offer high levels of responsibility and autonomy and comes with a requirement to define, shape and influence the UK strategy rather than be an ‘implementer’.

About You

For these two positions, we are looking for candidates with previous NAM / SNAM level experience within a recognised branded food/drink business and having previously worked on a Top 4 Retail / Discounter account. Confectionery / impulse category experience would be an added advantage as would experience gained in a startup organisation.

What sets you apart from your peer group is that you can demonstrate all the characteristics of a ‘Challenger’ Account Manager. This means being able to fully understand the key economic and value drivers for the customer whilst challenging all aspects of the customer’s thinking, offering new insights and driving the communication and growth agenda between both parties to maximum effect.

Above all, you are motivated by making a real difference, challenging current market norms and ways of working and offering new insights. You are a highly ambitious, driven individual with a personal style which enables you to work as a key member of a small, agile, fast-paced team.

There is flexibility on location but candidates will ultimately be required to work from the company’s central London based offices c.1-2 days per week.
