Client Details

My Client is a start up technology business who are significantly growing with two offices in the UK they are looking for someone to work out of our their Suffolk based office but of course the role will involve meeting clients face to face and being out in the field.

Description

Senior Business Development Manager Responsibilities :

This will include new business targeting within the region, and building relationships via several regional membership organisations, such as Tech East, and Chambers of Commerce.

  • Sales target achievement (£GP) on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Creation and delivery of a Strategic Plan for the role together with detailed actions and clear objectives set out over the first 3, 6 and 12 months in post.
  • Proactively supporting the objectives of the Sales and Marketing Director and playing a key role in helping her to grow the business revenue and profit performance - her number 2
  • Senior level sales oversight and support to junior members of the team in the absence of the Sales and Marketing Director
  • Attending marketing events
  • Driving sales initiatives and campaigns
  • Supporting the company's marketing activity to increase its footprint within its chosen markets
  • Lead generation (with support from sales support colleagues), creating and closing sales opportunities; attendance at sales meetings
  • Reporting personal sales performance on a weekly basis to Director
  • High quality bid and proposal development with support from sales support colleagues






Profile

The successful Senior Business Development Manager will need:
  • 7 to 10 years + plus face to face B2B sales experience within a relevant, technically led market
  • Proven track record to meeting sales targets and delivering on KPIs
  • Proven ability to self-manage and organise activity according to strategic and commercial objectives
  • Proven ability to create sales leads, qualify these, arrange stakeholder / decision maker meetings and close deals
  • Professionally trained sales person - must be able to demonstrate robust solution sales process, including bid management
  • Demonstrable ability to manage their own time, set priorities and achieve impressive sales growth
  • Familiarity with a CRM based system and experience of scheduling sales activity and recording such activity accurately and effectively
  • High levels of numerical literacy together with first class written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, and create robust and highly effective professional relationships / partnerships
  • Able to operate under pressure and do so whilst maintaining a "can-do "attitude
  • Highly motivated and results orientated team player with drive, professional polish and ambition able to inspire others and gain buy-in to their objectives in addition to supporting the goals and objectives of others
