Finance Controller - SME heath food business  - homebased 

The Company

My client is an extremely exciting and fast growing FMCG business (45% growth 2017-2018) operating in the health food and drink market. You can find their unique  brands in the leading UK supermarkets as well as across high street retailers and health food stores.

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Finance Controller to join this award winning business, working closely with the Senior Management Team to achieve the exciting growth and development plans over the coming years.

Role Summary

Working in a fast-moving retail distribution business and heading up the finance team, you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director and this role will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function of the business. The Finance Controller will be responsible for taking charge of the sales and purchase ledger, general and fixed asset ledgers and all VAT reporting including intrastat and EC sales. It also involves working closely with both the sales and buying teams to provide insightful analysis into all cost of sales ensuring that we achieve their targets for all products within the range.

The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing the Company's Finances and will process reports in an accurate and timely manner as well as playing an active role as part of the Senior Management Team. Supervision of the Accounts and Administrative Department (two office based and two field based) is a key requirement along with dealing with any ad hoc reports and situations that arise to which your skills and abilities are best suited.


A fully trained accountant but beyond they are looking for a go-getter, an outwardly focused individual, a natural communicator and fast-moving strategic achiever not scared of multi- project demands.  This person will play an important part in the growth of the company, so will be fully familiar with funding for growth and potentially acquisition and mergers.

This role is office based so you must be commutable to their HQ in South Wales.
