THE COMPANY

An excellent career development opportunity to join a highly-established, household name, branded children’s apparel manufacturing business, currently achieving substantial sales growth through organic, acquisition and international market development.

The UK business supplies the independent retail channel, public and private educational channel and a growing presence with online retail and direct-to-consumer.  With ongoing investment in new product development, manufacturing and IT system efficiencies, the business is well positioned for substantial future sales growth both in the UK and internationally.

The Group Commercial Director is now looking to appoint a dynamic and highly capable commercial leader who will join as UK Sales Director Designate on a career growth platform to become the future UK Sales Director following a planned internal retirement.

THE ROLE

The UK Sales Director Designate will shape and communicate the future UK trading strategy through a team of nationally based Account Managers and take full responsibility for the UK sales and profitability performance.

The role will require you to inspire, lead and motivate the team using all modern management techniques including sales, profit and market analysis and CRM systems development, coupled with effective strategic customer business planning and negotiation. Following the future appointment to full UK Sales Director status, the role will take on further responsibilities including additional field sales team members.

 

THE CANDIDATE

You are highly ambitious. Having successfully grown your commercial career to date, you are currently or have previously managed a regional or national sales team with experience of directly selling into the independent retail channel with a recognised branded apparel or consumer goods company.

Having gained structured sales training and achieved an impressive track record of profitable sales growth, you are looking for your next career step up into a more senior management strategy-shaping position where you can truly influence and drive the UK business agenda.

You excel in coaching and leading the team and also have a natural ability with data analysis to shape effective business development trade channel and major customer lead strategies.

Currently on an upward career path you have the drive, energy and desire towards achieving both your business and personal goals. Additionally, you are a natural relationship builder and possess the gravitas to ‘hold the floor’ both internally and externally to effectively influence your business plans.
