Head of Product | Agricultural IT | Agribusiness

We are working with a brilliant and innovative start up business that is looking to completely transform profitability and performance across the agriculture and agribusiness sectors. This business is heavily invested in technology and software development in order to redesign management and business strategy tools specifically for the agriculture and farming sectors. They are now on the look out for a forward thinking and experiences Software Product Head who can join, and take the business forward in a new direction. Someone who can distil a very complex supply chain with poor information exchange into a simple, elegant, multi-user platform which will showcase analytics and data insight in a brilliant user experience.

The Job:
This role will see you taking lead responsibility over a number of important business functions. Everything from the implementation of the business vision through plans and strategy to designing product features with the engineering team and helping them with front end development. You will be managing the overall programme of development which will involve balancing priorities and capacity alongside development goals and a project delivery schedule.
This role will also involve managing of more bespoke projects that will be developed under grants or development partnerships. Thus ensuring the business develops what it promises on. In short you will be the primary product interface to the Engineering and Business team and a driving force behind its continuous growth, re shaping the way we produce food in the UK.

The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have the following skill set and ambitions:
A proven track record in delivering international web service products in various environments. You are aware, given your experience of what is possible given current technology and where the future may lie for product development and new markets.

Direct experience in designing and building procurement software in UK agriculture, or relevant fields. Capable of understanding the industry and products.

Great levels of leadership experience across software engineering. This will involve managing a project level profit and loss account, to efficiently managing priorities and the development process. You will also be capable of working with the most challenging of farmers and customers to the most introverted of engineers, able to achieve the best out of both.

Brilliant communication skills which will help with building rapport in a modern forward-thinking team who wish to develop the future of agriculture in the UK and beyond.
