The Biodynamic Association is seeking to employ a Marketing and Supply-chain Manager to develop and implement a strategy to market Demeter and BDA Organic produce from its licensees, and to improve the brand recognition of Demeter produce. This is a part-time post.

We are seeking someone with relevant experience and skills to take this new position forward. The postholder will work with the BDA staff and BD Certification licensees and retailers to build consumer groups and citizens’ understanding of and the Demeter (biodynamic) brand as part of the organic market.

Type of contract: 12-24 months, renewable

Remuneration: £26,500 FTE @0.4

Work based in BDA offices, Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK

Objectives of the position

  • Develop a flourishing and sustainable market for Demeter & organic foods in the UK
  • Coordinate producers, processors, traders and consumers to work together as active stakeholders in supply-chain development
  • Make the most of changes in the organic farming and food sector to create better recognition for BDA licensee and Demeter products
  • Provide ongoing marketing and supply-chain support for BDA Organic & Biodynamic licensees
  • Identify opportunities for new UK produced Demeter & Organic crops and products, support licensees to develop and secure these markets
  • Raise awareness of BDA organic and Demeter trademarks.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills & customer-oriented approach
  • Good IT skills including website and social media expertise
  • Excellent leadership and organising skills, a good team player and coordinator
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Knowledge & experience of organic food and farming sector
  • Experience of organic food supply chains, processes and retail an advantage
  • Understanding of / interest in biodynamic methods & Demeter brand
  • Current online marketing technique experience, web analytics an advantage
